ATX Together: Confronting Racism

Monday, June 8th 2020

At Austin PBS we’ve always strived to give our viewers stories that provide perspective on inequities in areas such as education, health care and housing — stories that amplify solid solutions and diverse voices. As our community and our country are at a crossroads that begs for lasting change and action, this is a defining moment when we all need to do more to bring about meaningful transformation.

Our neighborhood conversation — ATX Together: Confronting Racism — discusses practical actions you can take in your everyday life to fight racism.

Judy Maggio moderates the conversation with Chas Moore, founder of the Austin Justice Coalition, Meme Styles, founder and president of MEASURE Austin and Simone Talma Flowers, executive director of Interfaith Action of Central Texas.

As our community engages in a focused, intentional effort to make change, we at Austin PBS pledge to continue telling stories to help us all learn more about each other and more about ourselves.

You can also watch the broadcast version of the conversation over at Austin PBS. Confronting an issue so large requires deep research and significant action. While this is by no means a comprehensive list, you can check out our compiled list of actions and resources that can get you started on your journey to an equitable society for all.

Our reporting doesn’t happen without you.
